13 year old boy was being treated by a psychiatrist in Indore, a city in Central part of India for childhood bipolar disorder. He had previously also been diagnosed with Childhood Depression and Autism. There is a dearth of psychiatrist and specially child psychiatrist in indore. His complaints were persistent irritable mood throughout the day since last 1 year and occasional anger outbursts. Didn’t respond to the standard mood stabilizers. He would stay angry and grumpy even at school but there were no complaints from the teachers. But at home the occasional outbursts would occur but only on provocation. He was diagnosed with Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD). He is now under treatment from our consultant psychiatrist and is doing well.
