Retrograde ejaculation is a condition wherein semen, instead of being ejected outside the body via the penis at the time of ejaculation, is QA redirected into the bladder.
That is because the muscles that are at the opening of the bladder do not work correctly. So, the semen moves into the bladder and afterwards gets voided along with the urine. It can be caused by Health conditions, surgery, or some medications.
Fortunately, this is not usually harmful to health. Pain or other serious health consequences seldom result from it. During attempts to conceive children, this can be more of an issue because sperm is not traveling in the usual direction.
If this is something you need to see about, you should consult your doctor. If having children is in the cards for you, this is something imperative. Based on what your physician says, he could give you a few options regarding sperm collection or other treatments.
In the case of retrograde ejaculation, there are several management options. Generally, treatment is focused on the causative factor. Withdrawal of medications or modification of surgeries, which may be responsible for the problem, is useful.
Sometimes, doctors prescribe medications to improve bladder muscle function. If there is a concern over fertility, there are medical interventions available to help retrieve sperm or even assist with artificial insemination.
If you are planning to conceive with someone, then it is best to consult a healthcare provider about discussing possible treatments or solutions available.
